Why Book a Rate Field Limo Service?
Headed to the South Side? Call (866) 666-0112 or check real-time rates and book online. SUVs, Sprinters and party buses for White Sox game days.
Quick Answer: A Rate Field limo service drops your group near the gates at 333 W. 35th Street and meets you at a pre-arranged spot after the last out, so no one deals with lot traffic on the Dan Ryan or a designated-driver debate. From the North Shore, plan on 45–75 minutes to the ballpark depending on traffic. Most fans book an hourly package covering pre-game dinner or tailgating, the game and the ride home. For playoff games, book as soon as tickets are confirmed.
Rate Field limo service gives White Sox fans the best version of a South Side game day: arriving together, enjoying every inning, and getting home without fighting the post-game crush at the 35th Street ramps. It’s also one of the easiest ways for North Shore and suburban fans to see a game without a long drive home.
Rate Field sits right along the Dan Ryan Expressway, which makes it easy to reach and hard to leave when 30,000 or more fans head for the same exits. A chauffeur takes the traffic, parking and timing off your plate.
As a Chicago limo service based in Northbrook and Lake Forest, we drive fans to every major Chicago venue. Here’s how to plan a smooth trip to 35th and Shields.
Rate Field at a Glance
Location and capacity
Rate Field is at 333 W. 35th Street on the South Side, just west of the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94). It opened in 1991, holds just over 40,000 fans, and took its current name in late 2024. The ballpark is cashless, and outside alcohol isn’t allowed inside. For bag rules and gate information, check the official White Sox ballpark page.
What’s around it
The ballpark is surrounded by large surface parking lots, which is why tailgating is a White Sox tradition. The Bridgeport neighborhood nearby has bars and restaurants that fill up before and after games. Gate 4 opens onto Champions Plaza, and the team store sits by Gate 5 on 35th Street.
More than baseball
Rate Field also hosts concerts and special events. The same drop-off and pickup planning applies to any big night at the ballpark.
Drive Times to Rate Field
Approximate drive times in normal traffic:
- Downtown Chicago and the South Loop: about 10–20 minutes
- Oak Brook: about 30–45 minutes
- Northbrook and Glenview: about 45–60 minutes
- Highland Park and Lake Forest: about 55–75 minutes
- Naperville: about 40–60 minutes
Weeknight games usually start around 6:40–7:10 p.m., which puts the drive right in evening rush hour. From the North Shore, we often suggest leaving 2 hours before first pitch.
How a Rate Field Game Day Works
Pickup and pre-game
Your chauffeur picks up your group at home, the office or a hotel. Many fans add a pre-game dinner downtown or in Bridgeport. With an hourly booking, the stop is easy to fit in.
Drop-off near the gates
Your chauffeur drops you as close to your gate as game-day traffic allows, so you don’t have to walk in from a far corner of the lots.
During the game
Your chauffeur waits nearby. Before you go in, agree on a pickup spot away from the busiest exits, usually along a side street off 35th Street or near a specific gate.
After the final out
Text your chauffeur as you head out. We’ll move into position while the lots start to clear. Post-game traffic on the Dan Ryan ramps is heaviest in the first 30 minutes, and a planned pickup avoids the worst of it.
Want to tailgate?
Tailgating in the White Sox lots is a long-standing tradition. If your group wants to tailgate, tell dispatch when you book. We’ll confirm the current lot rules and plan your arrival time around them.
October Baseball on the South Side
Book playoff rides early
When the White Sox host postseason games, demand spikes quickly. Book your ride as soon as your tickets are confirmed. Game times may be announced on short notice, so we keep scheduling flexible.
Expect bigger crowds
Playoff games bring sellout crowds, more traffic and longer exits. Build extra time into your arrival and plan to leave the pickup spot a little later than usual.
Dress for the weather
October nights on the South Side get cold. Bring layers, and leave extra coats in the vehicle.
Great Occasions for a White Sox Game Limo
Client entertainment
Rate Field’s suites and premium club seating make it a popular spot for hosting clients. A chauffeured arrival adds a professional touch. Our corporate limo service handles single cars or multiple vehicles for larger outings, and an Executive Sprinter keeps teams together.
Birthdays and friend groups
A ballgame is a fun, easy celebration. A Sprinter limo seats up to 14 and makes the ride part of the party.
Family outings
Families with kids appreciate the door-to-door ride and no parking hassle. Request car seats when you book.
Out-of-town fans
Visitors flying in for a series can book an O’Hare pickup and head straight to their hotel or the ballpark.
Choosing the Right Vehicle
Couples and executives: S-Class
Our Mercedes S-Class gives a quiet, polished ride for a date night or a client outing.
Small groups: Cadillac Escalade
A luxury SUV seats up to 6 with room for coolers, jackets and gear.
Friend groups: Sprinter
The Sprinter is the most popular game-day vehicle, with seating for up to 14, standing room, lighting and a sound system.
Big groups: party bus
For company outings, fan clubs and large birthday groups, our party bus options carry bigger crowds. Not sure which fits? Read our stretch limo vs. party bus vs. Sprinter guide or browse the full fleet.
How Much Does a Rate Field Limo Service Cost?
Game-day rides are usually booked as hourly packages. Your total depends on four things:
- Vehicle: An S-Class, SUV, Sprinter or party bus.
- Hours: A 7:10 p.m. game with a pre-game dinner usually runs 5–6 hours from the North Shore.
- Pickup location: Downtown pickups need fewer hours than North Shore or far-suburban pickups.
- Game type: Playoff games and big weekend series fill up first.
Every rate is confirmed upfront, with no surge pricing after the game. See live pricing on our real-time rates page, or call dispatch for a game-day quote.
Tips for a Smooth Game Day
- Book early for weekend games, fireworks nights and the postseason.
- Share your gate and seat section so your chauffeur knows the best drop-off point.
- Pick your pickup spot before first pitch and save your chauffeur’s number.
- Check the ballpark’s bag policy and leave extra bags in the vehicle.
- Bring a card or phone wallet. Rate Field is cashless.
- Guests 21 and older may bring their own beverages in eligible vehicles, subject to Illinois law and our policies.
